As the nation recovers from the shock of a fatal bomb attack in the southeastern border town of Suruç, hundreds have stormed the streets across Turkey to protest the heinous attack, while some are blaming the government for not preventing such a terrorist attack and other elements are just looking for a good excuse to create a riot. Groups of angry protesters clashed with police and torched vehicles in Istanbul, Diyarbakır, Şırnak and Bursa provinces.

At least 31 people were killed and 104 others were wounded on Monday, in a horrific bomb explosion which targeted a group of teenagers from the pro-Kurdish Socialist Youth Associations Federation, SGDF, who were meeting in the garden of the municipality's Amara Culture Center in Suruç.

The attack is being called a suicide bombing as the assailant is allegedly being linked with the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant, or ISIL, terrorist group in Iraq and Syria.

Thousands of Turkish nationals set out on the streets all over Turkey to protest the attack, for which ISIL is suspected, as they blamed the government for a lack of anti-ISIL security measures.

Frustrated over such a cold-blooded attack on youth, citizens staged demonstrations to protest the attack in Suruç in several Turkish cities, including Ankara, Istanbul, Bursa, İzmir, Denizli, Antalya, İzmit, Kayseri, Gaziantep, Çorlu, Batman, Mersin, Çanakkale and Diyarbakır.

Protesters torched police cars and threw stones at officers in Istanbul, Sırnak and Diyarbakır. Some angry protesters also torched civilian vehicles, trucks and houses.

A group of 40-50 protesters in Şırnak province torched a military vehicle with a petrol bomb.

Violence erupted in Taksim Square as protesters threw fire bombs at the police. One witness said protesters threw petrol bombs at police as police officers used teargas and water cannons to disperse the demonstrators.

Protests in Istanbul's Şişli and Sultangazi districts turned into violence as demonstrators attacked the police with flagpoles and stones. Some protesters were seen carrying weapons.

At least one gunman opened fire on a police station in the Sultangazi neighborhood in Istanbul.
