The General Staff of Turkey's military announced a total of 554 suspects were rounded up by the border guards, while they were attempting to cross into Turkey through Syria, Iraq and Iran illegally.

Turkey's border guards seized 460 suspects, who were trying to illegally infiltrate the Turkish territory through the border with Syria. Along with the suspects, one passport, 18,111 cartons of cigarettes and 11 large and small-sized livestock were confiscated, said the statements on the General Staff's official website.

The General Staff declared that a total of 84 suspects were rounded up while they were trying to breach the Turkey borders with Iraq and Iran through illegal ways. The military also seized 300 cartons of cigarettes and 2,685 liters of fuel oil.

According to General Staff, a Greek military aircraft put a Turkish maritime patrol aircraft under radar lock on Monday.

“The Turkish maritime patrol aircraft carried out training flight missions in international airspace over the Aegean Sea. The Greek F-16 jet fighter, who took off from the Lemnos square, harassed the Turkish plane by putting it under radar lock for nearly 40 seconds," said the statement.

The Turkish military aircraft reiterated the same in return, under the international rules of engagement in force.

The statement also added that four F-16 Turkish fighter jets also conducted combat patrol along the Turkish-Syrian border.
