The top floor of a two-story building collapsed in a landslide in Istanbul’s Beşiktaş district near the Bosphorus Strait on Tuesday. The landslide was brought on by the recent heavy downpours over the last three days.
Fire fighters and paramedics ran to the scene acting on a tip-off from local residents in the district’s Arnavutköy neighborhood, where the incident took place.
No one has remained under the rubble, said the police after an initial investigation on the spot.
The road, on which the building stands on, was temporarily closed to traffic for security reasons.
Municipal police are still investigating the badly-damaged property.
